Just a couple of other thoughts on immune system function.

During this same period of recent improvement, I made 2 other changes in

addition to the mushroom supplements:

I eliminated dairy from my diet (a huge sacrifice for me!) and have had

significant improvement in my GI symptoms. I guess I have an intolerance to

milk (and soy as well, I¹ve discovered). This was a big surprise for me; I

never suspected a food intolerance.

I¹ve also started recently taking another supplement olive leaf extract

when I¹m exposed to viral illnesses. I have 2 kids in elementary school, so

there are plenty of germs floating around here. I had noticed that my CFIDS

symptoms flared when one of my kids got sick, even though I didn¹t catch

what they had. I¹ve also begun to react badly to antibiotics and wanted to

try to avoid secondary infections that require antibiotic treatment. I had

read that olive leaf extract is a potent anti-viral and also has

anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

I take it several times a day when one of my kids is sick. So, it seems to

be working. They¹ve had some nasty viruses this winter (and my husband,

too), and I haven¹t caught anything or crashed when they get sick. My 10

year old son who has CFS can¹t stomach the olive leaf, so I got some

chewable elderberry tablets for him (also an anti-viral). He¹s also had an

unusually good month.

Here¹s the article I read:

I used to get it, I think from TwinLabs, but they don't seem to have

it any more. Here's a helpful web page. It says that it is only

available as a combination vitamin-mineral supplement in oral form.

It still works for me when I click on it, Ronni...try cutting and

pasting into your browser address bar, if that doesn't work. And give

it a moment to load.

Peace,

As to the fiengold list I will find it for you over the next couple of

days--You may know Jane Hersey--She is the editor of their newsletter--She is

the

one that I will ask. She has written a book called " Why my child can't

behave " " --Although the title is not one I would have picked because I think the

audience for the book should be much broader--but it gives details of reactions

and

how to avoid the worst of the offending salicylates and the origin of many of

the chemicals in our foods--What I like best about it is it is a user friendly

book--one that even I can understand--I will also go to Feingold.org and see

if the list is posted there. Laurie
