America's Heartland will profile the people, places and products of U.S. agriculture. The magazine-style, half-hour program will focus on our national love for the land, our fascination with food and the bedrock American values of family, hard work and independence that make our agricultural system the finest in the world. In announcing the ground-breaking series today, the series, two flagship Supporters-- Monsanto Company and the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF)-- along with the show's producer, KVIE, the public television affiliate in Sacramento, Calif., said they are proud to collaborate with other U.S. agriculture groups to raise awareness of the significant contribution that agriculture makes to the quality of American living. America's Heartland supporting contributors include American Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Association, National Cotton Council, United Soybean Board and U.S. Grains Council. _________________ Lyle ********************************** From: " george wright " <wrightwaydairy@...> Date: Fri May 6, 2005 6:31 am Subject: Re: Monsanto, Farm Bureau & PBS Team Up to Brainwash the Public It's to bad I always liked farm bureau and I am member but the last couple of years I have not liked the direction in which they appear to be heading. They seem to be more concerned with farm bureau than with farmers, whom they supposedly represent. Starting to look like another coop that is more interested in helping itself instead of it's members. ************************************ From: c2graz@... They did a thing on them a few years back on Dateline or 60 Minutes. Anyway they are a huge lobbying force for industrial agriculture. I quit that group a few years ago.
