My son has eczema and now has had to get glasses for nearsightedness which no one else in our families has...I have been wondering what could be going on...He also has been fighting pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinuses infections which have been cured by taking zertec but how good it that for him? > > > Sandy Sounds like immune system weakness possibly from gluten intolerance and other stress related factors, heavy metal exposure, allergies - dust mites, cat, etc., lack of vit. D and other nutrients. I'm convinced the best things to help are herbs and spices, and probiotics. Ginger is a wonderful spice, the " universal medicine " that they fought over centuries ago. It has antiviral, antibiotic, normalizing properties for fats etc., various vitamins and minerals, etc. 1/2 teaspoon dry daily is used in other countries instead of aspirin for the heart. For Probiotics, yogurt and brewer's yeast are also very good. Don't get fortified yeast, just plain. And he should get sun daily for vit. D and the eczema, and will help with his eyes, and try to not wear the glasses outside or when reading (don't know his age). Also NO SOY if you haven't heard, unless fermented like miso. Soy can really mess you up long term. Bob

Sandy, Sounds like his immune system is really shot. Have you had him tested for food allergies? Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Then what if you are allergic to mold or dust and you are a guy living in a dorm? I am sincerely asking not just trying to be difficult... But we do have a more immediate problem and no more time as he is leaving to go to Europe for a European studies program through his university on Monday and he went to Cedar Point on Monday and may have a cervical strain/injury. Oh, brother! Sandy

Well....if he has food allergies that underly his weakened immune system then he can avoid the offending foods, which should result in a strengthened immune system which should result in him not getting sick so often. It would also help to take immune boosters, BTW. >But we do have a more immediate problem and no more time as he is >leaving to go to Europe for a European studies program through his >university on Monday and he went to Cedar Point on Monday and may have >a cervical strain/injury. Oh, brother! >Sandy Sorry to hear that :-( The European trip, sounds great however. Generally much better food over there than here. Maybe his health will turn around on his new European diet...
