Guest guest
Hello there everyone. My name is Radtke & I am new to this group. I haven't officially been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but several doctors have mentioned it & when confronted with the actual diagnosis, have avoided the issue & referred me to someone else. I exhibit a lot of the symptoms - fatigue, muscle/joint pain (with & without swelling), general body aches & pains, brain fog, IBS, blurred vision, headaches (have had migraines since I can remember), dexterity, muscle weakness, nausea, dizziness, & many others I'm sure I've forgotten. I am 36 years old & all of these medical issues came about within the past 2 - 3 years. I have seen Internal Medicine doctors, Psyiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation), Neurosurgeon, & Family Practice. All mention Fibromyalgia, but never come right out & say it is my diagnosis. I work full-time & own a home. My other half, Larry, of 16 + years & not married, was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus in August of 2002 after two years of similar medical issues with him. He is 35. He has been on Social Security since January of 2003, Medicare since January of 2005. His symptoms range from fatigue, sleeping 10 - 14 hours per day, irregular heartbeat, sleep problems (other than too much), loss of appetite, alcohol intolerance, joint/muscle pain, & many others I can't think of right now. I wanted to join this group to vent & get support & suggestions to carry out our lives, both Larry & I, since most things apply to both. I don't necessarily believe in alternative medicine, but want to someday see doctors more educated about these conditions. I worked at Hennepin County Medical Center for over 11 years & had contact with many doctors there. Almost too much opportunity because I was starting to know more about EBV than they did. I don't have a computer at home yet. My Internet access is limited to the county libraries in my area, friends with computers, & work, so my responses may be a few days out. I would like to get to know many of you & hope we can all get along. Thanks for the opportunity to join & hope to hear from you all soon.
