Guest guest
Hi , I just wanted to tell you that I really feel for you and your family. Through your emails I can feel your fristration and worry. I am not usually one who prays, but since this has all happened I suppose I have started. I pray for you and your son (and your family). Please keep us posted, and try and hang in there. Traci > > Hi everyone. After 7 years of reflux, feeding difficulties and aspiration risk.. and vomitting.. had to have a Nissen Fundoplication (anti reflux) surgery. He is 9. The surgery, is when they take the stomach and surgically wrap the end of the esophagus closed..to prevent the reflux. > > We are three weeks post op now, and have notice that he seems more comfortable. We were able to go back to G tube feeds (he was not able to take anything in stomach for a few months prior to the surgery) and had to have a " J " tube.. which by passes their stomach completely and feeds to the G tube. > > Has anyone else had a Nissen? From the age of 2...when he lost his chubbiness, and got thin...started refluxing.. and needed a g tube. It has been a continual struggle. The J tube was the worst..because not even being able to feed him to the stomach was simply awful. We think his stomach may be adjusting fairly well to the feeds... but he can only tolerate a special formula called Neocate... > > I dont know.. I think I'm just tired..and would like to hear about other experiences with the Nissen... Guest guest
Thank you. It has been a rough time, this poor child has been through so much, and we try to be strong. We are very spiritual and appreciate the prayers. Likewise.. I pray for you too.
