Guest guest
I have had two colonoscopies. The worst part of a colonoscopy is the day before. Generally you are limited to clear liquids and they give you some pretty horrid tasting stuff to drink and sometimes an enema as well. The colonoscopy itself you are out for and doesn't hurt a bit. They do fill you up with gas to be able to visualize the colon, so you do have to pass gas a lot at first and belch some. Other than that there is no pain at all. You are pretty drowsy so usually need someone to take you home and you sleep off the drugs. I have known many people who have had them and everyone says the prep is way the worst part of the whole thing. Not to worry, all that is is bad tasting and lots of going to the bathroom. Hi I had one done several years ago because of persistent IBS. i was really scared about it but it was a dawdle - it didn't hurt at all. They offered patients who were nervous, diazepam but I chose not to take it. I had to lie on my side and at one point I did feel it slightly uncomfortable - more just i was a ware of it. But I can honestly say i felt no actual pain nor did I suffer any afterwards. To be perfectly honest I found the laxative they gave me to take the day before the worst part of it. Not painful but boy did it work quickly :-) good luck Kirsteen Chaos, confusion, disorder - my work here is done
Guest guest
I had one about six years ago and now I am fifty-two and need to go for one again. It does not hurt. you are out of it and even the Fibro pain is gone. So go do it. Better safe than sorry. Blair
Guest guest
Hi ,m Because my brother died early of a rare cancer, I am supposed to be have that every few years. I have had one and was so scared! That is an exit not a entrance and I hated the fact of having to go through this. Any, they sedated me with something they said I could still talk to them but would not remember it. I felt like they knocked me out and then two sec later...said it's done! There was no pain afterwards either. You will be just fine! You really can relax on this one. :-) HEATHER " wrote: > > I'VE BEEN ON ALOT OF MEDS, MOST HAVEN'T DONE A DARN THING FOR ME... > AND RIGHT NOW- ALMOST ALL THE MEDS I'M TAKING I DON'T EVEN I NEED... > > I THINK I ONLY NEED THE THYROID, PROVIGIL, COLACE, LUNESTA, > PRASOSIN, PRILOSEC AND PERHAPS THE LIQUID MALOXX (EWWW!) > > BUT EVERYTHING ELSE I CAN REALLY DO WITHOUT....
