Guest guest Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 Hi All, my younger brother is running the NYC marathon in a few weeks. i don't live close by, but have been visiting him for the past few days. I'm am very concerned about him! He has not even considered eating properly in order to prepare for this or the intense training he has been doing. on his final long run yesterday, he couldn't make it. Bottom line is that I know he would be willing to try my supplement recommendations and if i can help in that way, i would like to. I have brought up the subject of nutrition w/ him, but he is not willing to change his diet because his foods/drinks are his " rewards " for all of his hard work to prepare for this. i am not an athlete,so i do not know how to advise him about supplements he can be taking and when to take them, etc. Could you please advise me on this and i can pass along the recommendations to him? I'm thinking some sort of whey protein powder would be helpful-- or a meal replacement type food.
