Do you know that properly glazed pottery is clay with glass melted

over it? The problem with lead leaching out of glazed pottery has to

do with brightly colored lead glass glazes commonly used in imported

cheap pottery. I believe, but have not researched it, that the glaze

on the ceramic/pottery crockpot inserts in US made will NOT have lead

glazes.
