Guest guest
Hi ... Of course it is allowed in!!!!! Welcome to Sydband. You will learn a lot from us here, the ups the downs and the inbetweens. We have all had differing successes... but that is normal with anything in life. Some have made their goal weights, some have done it more than than once... others of us are still working towards them. Ask any questions you like and we will try and answer them for you. Also... in the files section there is an essay written by Fielding... have a read - it is worth it! Mel >> Hi > My name is and I am seriously thinking about Lapbanding. Guest guest
Hi Welcome. I am positive that there is more media hype than there needs to be. They sensationalize to get a story thats for sure. You will find there are lots of wonderful positive stories to be shared in this group. I was banded 16 days ago. I was back o work after 7days. I stopeed taking pain killers on day 3. I have lost 8 kilo's so far. (day of surgery at 96kg, i am now 88.5kg) i am full of energy and have started exercising again. I am sure that others will share their stories with you too. With anything surgical there are always going to be hiccups. But you have to look at the big long term picture and the the benefits that go along with that. Hope this helps Juzzy Here to say "Hi" Hi My name is and I am seriously thinking about Lapbanding. I am21 with degenerative osteoathritis in my knee and weigh 138kg. I havea referal to see Dr. Greegan in Penrith.I would like to speek to other members of this group as I havereservations of the operation as I have heard that it can bedangerous/life threatening though I just put it down to the mediahyping up the dangers for thier own means of getting a story.I hope this post was allowed in wasn't 100% sure. Guest guest
I am no good at this stuff... even though I am a moderator - I leave these computer things to Nic to handle. I don't want to accidently delete the group!!! That would be catastrophic to say the least. Mel >> > Hi does anyone know why I have some completly different name come up besides my own? Guest guest
If I do... it will be totally accidental and I won't even know I have done it till some rings me having a mental attack. I don't think you have to worry - I don't hardly ever go to the place where that could happen, accidentally or otherwise. Guest guest
Hello Don't be too nervous Not sure where the life-threatening comes from But its definitely Life-Threatening to remain obese I too have the severe knee, hip pain I am only 4mths banded and already notice improvement In the pain I think you will find many in here with similar problems Re pain and mobility I just read the Fielding doc last night What a good read Hugs Leeanne -- Re: Here to say "Hi" Hi ... Guest guest
Hi Yes my future sister in law made the coment of "Sounds like they are prescribing operations for anerexia now" Seems everytime she finds I am on one diet or another "Stop trying to be anerexic" Hello I'm obese??? think thats her way of support. Last night I was watching a clip on you tube that showed a band being out in...it was strange it was re-assuring at the same time "I'm having what done?" Anyway time to stop yammering on Re: Here to say "Hi" Hi, and welcome to the list. I have been looking into banding for quite some time now and have researched it to the max - the ins and outs. I have even collected testomonies and other informative tit bits from around the net and made it in to a dvd for my firends. I held a video night to inform them of what i wanted to do and they are all supportive. I due to be banded 18th Feb 2008. I am so excited. I am a mum of 3 in my late forties and want to claim back control over my life instead of my wieght controling my life!!! I also have my best friend being banded 27th Feb and we intend to support and encourage each other. The lapband is very much a tool and I have come to respect that . it is not a magic cure forgetting rid of the unwanted fat. I am hoping and praying that it will help me fight the war on my fat that has been around my neck tooo long!! This is a wonderful group of ladies though i havent met them in the flesh yet but hope to in the future. I am sure you will find the people on this list informative, supportive and very honest about the BANdDsometimes their friend and sometimes from what i have read a bloody pain lol. regards UmmAleah Get the name you always wanted with the new y7mail email address.
