Now I have another reason to shop at Whole Foods, although the fact that they have the best cheese selection in Seattle is really the only reason I need. There's nothing socially irresponsible about trying to prevent unionization. Unions are thuggish cartels whose costs, like those of all cartels, are borne by consumers, in the form of higher prices, and by their would-be competitors, in the form of lower wages and unemployment. Now, If you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy some cheese stocked by efficient, non-union labor.

It took me several years of poking and prodding to get the natural food grocery stores around here to carry something other than Organic Valley " raw " cheese as an example of good raw cheese. I had to point out to them the other cheeses they carry that were in fact truly raw even though they often were not labeled as such. I use to carry the _Cheese Primer_ with me to settle disputes when the " cheese person " wanted to argue with me. And of course having a slice of Neal's Yard (or Spanish Blue or French Morbier) versus some pasteurized pretender always ended the conversation, lol! It was so much easier at upscale places like Larry's on Queen Anne or Metropolitan Market in West Seattle. If they didn't have it they would order it, no questions asked. Now a days all these stores have a copy of the _Cheese Primer_ sitting at the cheese counter. But to Whole Foods credit their cheese selection was fabulous from day one. And not only do they have an excellent cheese section but right next to it is one of the best beer selections in Seattle. :-) (Yes, I know you don't drink). The beer buyer, Steve Byer, is quite good. He was excited and immediately contacted Bards Tale Ale when I told him several months ago that gluten free beer is now available and some WF's back east are selling it. He has some vintage stuff too that looks quite good. The sinews of war, a limitless supply of money. Cicero (106-43 B.C.), Roman orator, philosopher. Philippics, Oration 5, sct. 5. Oh and by the way, lest it seemed I was suggesting otherwise, they have some excellent pasteurized cheeses as well. The sinews of war, a limitless supply of money.
