From what I've read, the rash that may come in the first couple of weeks or

so on colostrum could be an allergy to the product, but most alternative

people seem to think it's more likely a healing crisis for some other skin

problem -- so it could be connected to your itching for a while.

Is a rash that feels like a bruise common? Or ever even heard of? I'm not

necessarily averse to suffering through some discomfort if it'll ultimately

be of benefit, but I'd like to be reasonably sure there'll be benefit

instead of harm before taking the plunge.

Only " rash " has been used in whatever I've read, and I don't remember any

description.

Understandable. I don't know what to suggest, except -- if no one else on

the list is familiar with this -- maybe trying the company to see if they've

been notified of any similar reactions?

I use that some colostrum and don't have any problems with it and I am

extremely sensitive it seems to everything. Maybe it's a tainted batch or

something. If you like you can email me offline and I'll mail you a few

capsules out of my bottle and see how you do with it.

Thanks for the kind offer, but I doubt it's tainted. It was sealed and

came straight from the Vitamin Shoppe. Either I'm reacting badly to it or

it is some kind of healing crisis -- if, that is, it's not something else

entirely. I'm going to take a bit of a risk and continue taking it for a

couple days to see what happens.

Doesn't Aveeno have colloidal oatmeal in it? Dermatitis herpetiformis

with gluten intolerance decides on random spots to erupt.

I don't believe I have any kind of gluten problem per se, and this doesn't

look anything like dermatitis herpetiformis, but thanks for the

thought. (That's a kind of scaly, blistery problem with sores that itch,

right? This is just a uniformly red area that's tender and feels exactly

like a bruise. It doesn't look like there's anything different about the

skin whatsoever except its color, and it doesn't itch at all. Compressing

it -- getting down on the floor for a pushup, bending over, etc. -- hurts

like a bruise would.)

Is it possible that it's not being washed down to your stomach

quickly enough?

Or do you think you might have some issues with your liver that are

being brought to the surface by the colostrum?

No, I've been mixing it into yoghurt, so it's getting down there. I'm not

sure why not getting it down quickly enough would result in bruising (or

whatever it is) to the outside of my stomach, though.

Well, I know I have liver issues, though increasing my dose of pepsin with

meals has helped a lot in stimulating more bile production and release, but

why do you think liver issues would respond to colostrum, and why in this

particular way?

I hope you'll get this checked out if it doesn't fade. The bruised

feeling is just bizarre. Are you sure it isn't something unrelated to

the colostrum?

I hope you will give us an update. Be well.

It seems to be starting to fade, but I cut my colostrum dose by two thirds

last night. More as it develops,
