Guest guest
Hi, my daughter is 5 and cannot walk or sit or crawl or talk. She is low tone and so is floppy when picked up. However, she has an infectious smile and lovely bright blue eyes. Dom Walking Hi, My son evan is 2yrs and has bilateral perisylvan polymicrogyria and he is progressing well. He crawls and has been doing so for about 1 year, he pulls to stand and has used a walker at his PT appts. I am a member of a list for children with hemiplegia but most of the kids on their had a stroke which caused the hemiplegia CP whereas Evan's BPP is what caused his cerebral palsy. My question is that I was wondering how old your children were when they walked(if they have started walking yet) and did they use a walker and for how long? Don't get me wrong I am very grateful that Evan is making the progress that he is and if he uses a walker and never walks independently then that will be just fine, but I am just curious as to what other children with BPP have done. Thanks mom 2 Evan 2yrs BPP, spastic hemiplegia CP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
My son walked at 12 months but never crawled due to weakness in his right arm. He might have walked even earlier but his PT try to delay him from walking because she wanted him to crawl. is atypical as far asthe way the PMG presented though. -Steve gabeandevansmom wrote: Hi, My son evan is 2yrs and has bilateral perisylvan polymicrogyria and he is progressing well. Guest guest
That is what we are using right now, it is called a posterior walker. I think that is better than the ones that go in front of them because it will promote to just go ahead and walk out of it like your son did. > > Our 12 year old didn't walk until he was four and what helped him was that a physical therpist found a rear type walker and one day he walked right out of it!! Just a thought. > > Shirley & Ted Semesky > Elmira, NY > Parents of : , 12 - PMG- PDD/NOS, Hypotonia and Autism > and Princess Joetta, 14 > Blessings of Peace and All Good, > Good friends are good for the heart. > ¸...¸ __/ /\____ > ,·´º o`·,/__/ _/\_ //____/\ > ```)¨(´´´ | | [1] | | [1]| | |[1] || |l±±±± > ¸,.-·²°´ ¸,.-·~·~·-.,¸ `°²·-. :º° > > > >
Guest guest
Hello Our son is home right now. He had no seizures anymore, thanks to the ACTH-therapy. He is nog 7 months but we think he is like a baby of 2 months now. He laughs a little bit, he begins to make movements with his legs and arms. We are very happy now. Patty, how is your son doing it now? Guest guest
Dillon did not even start crawling until he was about 2 1/2 years old. He was using a walker last year at school and justcrawling to get around home. We did use a stander and then he started pulling up on furniture and lunge walking. We had ordered him a new walker for school this year and before it was approved by insurance, dillon started walking more and more. His main mode of transportation now is walking, he is doing great and will be a community walker some day. Harriet
