Hi I can relate to everything you say for Fibro except for

the tremours.. I have RLS which can be in all limbs and muscle

contractions in limbs and back but not tremours. Has your Dr.

recommended any other tests for you?

I also have tremors... mainly on my right side.... doctor had me on Meripex for

a long time... and that did wonders in helping to control them.... I do not take

it now.... one of the side effects deals with cognative thinking... it got to

where I couldn't do my checkbook... so for me it was better to be able to use my

brain and deal with the tremors...... they seem to get worse when i am really

stressed or tired.

Hope this helps.

Do you mean muscle spasms? I have those all the time with my fibro and other

muscle problems.

If you get a chance could you describe that the tremors " feel " like to

you as they are happening?

I had a weird episode this summer where I couldn't move the left side of my

body. I went to my doctor who called an ambulance and I was rushed to the

hospital.

My doctor was so SURE I had had a stroke. The stroke team at the hospital

thought I had had a severe form of migraine (I frequently get a migraine that

doesn't hurt, but causes paralysis in part of the body). I was sure that I had

MS and this was the begining of it.

No one knows what happened and they can't agree on a diagnosis even after 2 CT

scans and an MRI, BUT ever since that day I have a distinct tremor in my hands,

more so on my left. I also continue to have weakness on my left side.

I guess my answer to you is that I don't know what it is either. Could be

another symptom in a long list of symptoms.

I don't know that this helps since I have never been officially diagnosed with

FM, only CFS. Tremors were one of my first symptoms. My head will jerk really

hard, and tremors in my legs and esp in my right arm. They are when I am trying

to move these parts (trying to lift a glass to my mouth, walking, etc. )

Doctors tell me they are familial, essential tremors. They do run in families

and the more stress I put my body under (if I keep pushing, instead of resting)

the harder the tremors are.

Members of my family have had tremors due to other diseases (diabetes,

Parkinsons, Alzheimers), so just make sure what the tremors are caused from and

hopefully, if you give your body the rest it needs, they will ease off a bit.

That's how it worked for me anyway. I don't get them near as much as I did at

the beginning (back in '98)

Good Luck to you!

I get facial tremors around my eyes. I also get tremors in my hands and in my

lower legs. Yes, I think this is a part of Fibromyalgia, but I haven't seen

anything written about it from this board or any other for that matter.

>Hi ,

I have both fibro and CFIDS and have suffered tremors. My doctor said

it's an advanced symptom of RLS. He has changed up my meds and I have

not had them since. Ask your doctor!

Thank you all for replying back regarding my tremors, someone ask me

what they felt like, well my right arm, hand and leg constantly

shake (like someone with Parkinson), when I get anxious, stress or

tired it gets worse, the only time they stop is when I'm sleep, but

that's when the muscle spasms kicks in, so I do know the difference

of them both, my poor husband does also as I kick him all night.

I had cervical surgery in June and due to the metal plate that it

was inserted on my neck, my MRI could not be read to see if there

were signs of nerve damage or spinal cord damage due to the surgery,

my brain MRI was cleared.

While I was in Rehab (cause I stop walking due to pain) they try me

with Parkinson's medication, but it did not work at all.

At the moment I'm walking with the aid of a walker or a walking

stick as the tremors interfere with my balance.

I wish there were more information regarding this tremors associated

with FMS, my Drs have never hear of any one with tremors with FMS,

but then again in Australia FMS is not well known yet, they have

lots to learn, because most of my information I gathered it from the

US, UK or Canada.

Thank you everyone, at least I know that I'm not alone

Have you or do you know any body that experiences tremours with

So , you are in Australia, what part? I've been corresponding with a few

people in Australia, one is in Sydney and the other Brisbane. I've wondered,

how you do in the heat? I live in St. Louis, MO (midwest of USA) and I notice

I do better when the weather cools down, but your weather doesn't really cool

down much, does it?

Anxious to hear from you,

Jane and

This reminded me sometimes I experience a period of

time, from a few days to a week, where I drop

everything it just leaves my hands

and when that starts I have to be vigilant so much of

what is expressed here is bringing my own symptoms to

the fore I used to be so scared of them (the symptoms)

if it comforts anyone you do tend to reach a point of

" oh well " ...(my diagnosis is CFIDS/FM)

noone so far has mentioned ongoing bacterial/viral

infections at what they could later point to as the

start of their illnesses...anyone experienced this?

Hi Whitney and Barbara

That is what I wondered at first Barbara...if you were

having spasms and twitches..you sound like you are

having those and tremours..

Dear Marie,

My mother used to refer to that (humorously) as " dropsy " . I had quite

a bit of that myself today as I was trying to make pancakes for

breakfast. (I did eventually manage to achieve pancakes for me and my

grown son.)

I can't pinpoint a clearcut infection as the beginning of my illness.

However, I did have a severe case of mononucleosis in my late teens,

and although I got better eventually (took about 2 years to recover

enough to go back to college), I'd say that over the ~35 years since

then there have been very few periods where I'd describe my condition

as " vibrant good health " .

Blood test results for me recently came back positive for Lyme

disease, Epstein-Barr virus (which causes mono), and several other

things. I will be keenly interested to see if antibiotics & antivirals

result in an improvement. I'll be starting in on those sometime in

January.
