Guest guest
Hi Wossy and the Wed Wibbon Yes I’m back from the FSHG, and he may have pronounced it like that but on Friday night I happened to watch part of Jonathon Ross. Straight away I was struck by the fact that he and his guests were wearing the Red AIDS Awareness Ribbon. All power to Wossy on this but when have we ever seen a show host wear the Blue ME Awareness Ribbon. Oh yeah they’ll pose of piccys for the front of newsletters wit a big caring smile which is no doubt as false as my late granddads teeth, but ask them to do anything more? I once raised this with Jill Moss of AYME when Ainsley Harriot appeared on the front of the AYME Magazine with a big smile on his face as though he was pleased to have been there. How nice it would be I thought if Ready Steady Cook were to be on during ME Awareness Week and he and all involved were to wear the BLUE ME Ribbon with a brief explanation of why it was been worn and about ME followed by details at the end of the programme on who to contact. ME Awareness Week came and so did ready steady cook, but no mention of ME. I mentioned this to Jill Moss, all she could say was, “well they are busty you know”. I suppose she is all knowing about such matter being a close personal friend of Esther Rantzen. She could find no words (as usual to my replies) when I said “they are not too busty to attend events and pose for the camera’s so surely they must be able to find time for something more constructive”. Gil as usual did not reply. Still I suppose much of the blame must lie with AYME PR for not seizing the opportunity, another chance lost as always, after all it would not be Jill’s fault. Still on the subject my latest article for my column North of Doncaster in Pathways, the newsletter of the Doncaster based Leger ME Group is entitled Celebrity Patrons is available as follows www.leger.me.uk click on Pathways 10 and click on the big left pointing triangle in the top right hand corner of the page till you reach page 22. Have a read then tell me what’s missing of the end, and if anyone wants to forward the article they have my permission to do so.
