Guest guest
Hi Chrissy. We are in south Jersey and also have been to CHOP's feeding clinic. We were less than impressed as well. Haven't been to DuPont for feeding as those issues have become less pressing than they once were, however 's Neuro (Goodman), Ortho () and ENT (Riley) are all at DuPont and we couldn't be happier with the hospital as a whole. Both of his hospital stays have been at DuPont (once for hamstring lengthening, once for a T & A), and the staff was wonderful. I have a friend that told me about a feeding clinic at Hershey, supposed to be the premiere feeding program in this area. I'll see if I can find out some info and get back to you with the details. Good Luck. Sue Mom to Meghan (10) and (5) BFPP, mod spastic quad CP
Guest guest
I am Chrissy's mother and I know that she has not been able to reply because she is having trouble with Mason's feeding and a bad cough so she has bee too busy to get back on here. Chrissy lives in Norristown and I live in Chalfont, Hershey would probably be a little further of a drive than taking Mason to CHOP but it would be worth it if he could get better treatment. I will look into that facility. Thanks for your input. Ginny > > Where do you live in the CHOP/Dupont area? Guest guest
Thanks so much for your input. I actually called the Dupont feeding team today and they said they aren't accepting any new patients! I was a little upset about that, but what are you going to do. They told me they don't know when they'll be accepting new patients. I heard about a feeding team in NJ but its about 2 hours away from me and so is Hersey and being a working mom its very hard taking my son to appointments that are even an hour away. I'm not sure what I should do, but I'm going to try Dupont again in a couple months. My only concern with Mason right now is that he throws up a lot but he's a good weight for his age and he seems to eat ok. Do you think I can address the throwing up with my GI doctor? Thanks again for your help. Guest guest
Chrissy, I think you can address those issues with the GI Dr. I would think he/she would probably recommend a swallow study. We address all 's feeding issues with his GI now rather than going the feeding clinic route. Our biggest problems have been weight stability, constipation, and advancing his diet from pureed to soft (which we continue to work on daily). The weight issues have resolved and the constipation eased by adding 1 can of pediasure with fiber twice a day, and also giving him Kristalose 10 Gm daily. Good luck. Guest guest
Sue, do you go to the clinic across from English Creek Shopright ? That is only about 10 minutes from my house ! mommy of Crystal Aquielle > > Hi Chrissy. > > We are in south Jersey and also have been to CHOP's feeding clinic. We were less than impressed as well. Guest guest
Hi Chris. No, we actually went to CHOP in Philly for the feeding team. It was in the Seashore House building. I have been to the Voorhees satellite office lots of times for Dr's appts. and labs, especially when we were going through the whole genetic testing thing. I used to drive by the EHT office every week going to and coming from 's horseback riding lesson. He used to go to ARCH (Atlantic Riding Center for the Handicapped) on Asbury Rd, off of English Creek Rd. It took us almost an hour to get there from our house though, so we found a closer center in linville and go there now. We currently live in Berlin, but have our house up for sale ( 2 story, need to find a ranch), and will probably end up in Washington Township, Mullica Hill, Mantua area. Small world though, Huh? Guest guest
Where is franklinville? Anywhere near norristown, thats were I'm from. What is the feeding clinic in franklinville called? Good luck with house hunting. I just recently bought a raised rancher in norristown and we love having everything on one floor. If you need a good realator mine was great and very understanding and helpful. Let me know if you want to use her and I'll give you contact information. Guest guest
Sue, it's most definitely a small world. We see doctors out of Dupont.
