I attended meeting a full year before getting banded!! The tips and knowlegde

I was implying that you are lucky you knew to go to the meetings for friendship and support. I didn't know the group existed for a year after I was banded and I am / was looking forward to it. But after the language you have just sent me, I would rather not go now. So lucky for me I did not meet any of you!

I would have to agree with Barbara here

Mel wasn't being rude in anyway

She was making an excited statement that she loves to meet all bandits and bandits in waiting

Well that's how I read it

All the sydband girls are a lovely group of people

I have been lucky enough to go to one lunch

And I was terrified and nervous

But they were all so nice and made me feel very welcome

Its very easy to read something out of context when it is written

Doesn't come across the way we would speak it aloud

I'm sorry girls, but knowing Mel as I do she would have meant "Oh my God, yes, yes, yes, please come, cant wait to see you, sorry if I didnt make it clear that you didnt have to be banded to come along"......and NOT "Oh my God, what, are you stupid or something?" as it seems you have taken it to mean.......

Its very hard with the Net, cause you cant see body language and emotion but please trust me, the last thing Mel would ever want is to hurt or offend anyone in this group.

I know how difficult it is when you join a new group, you feel anxious and dont want to be rejected (and lets face it, lots of us bigger ladies have had PLENTY of that along the way)....but you wont regret going along to a group lunch or dinner, I promise.

If it's not covenient to bring clothes with you to the restaurant, perhaps I can swing by your place after the lunch? I wish I had some 18's to give you.
