Guest guest
Payments by members can probably be done anonymously via Paypal. It is also possible to find researchers via the internet who want to do limited research for free, like students or retired researchers. And the research can be funded by existing funds from governments, universities, mental health institutions, psychiatric hospitals, scientific journals, tv producers and patient groups. Also many large companies and wealthy individuals have funds for charity. And we can systematically ask all pharma companies to do studies about PSSD. > > What PSSD sufferers think about funding an independent research for us? Guest guest
To be completely honest with you I think the sad but true fact is that research is very very expensive and there are not enough of us. To get serious research completed basically every member of this site would need to donate $100 each, and that would be for just one study. In medical research $250,000 is really not that much, and would only fund one lab for maybe a year. Maybe you could fund one study but I doubt it would produce a cure. Rather I think we need to raise awareness. If we raised funds it would be more effective to raise awareness I believe. If the public at large new about this, and those one SSRIs became scared, the drug companies would do work to try and find a cure. In fact there is research on this going on already as was posted earlier. > > > > What PSSD sufferers think about funding an independent research for us? >
Guest guest
I agree completely. The funding should come from a non-profit institute or the govt (obviously not from the pharmas). Guest guest
a study funding by us can be crucial, we can't aim to a cure without it. We have to find where is EXACTLY the problem. > > What PSSD sufferers think about funding an independent research for us? >
