Guest guest
Congratulations Jake. This is the 2nd success story in as many weeks in our group!! Did you experience any improvement in numbness? And how long have you waited before you saw this improvement? Subject: I'm recovering! To: SSRIsex Date: Thursday, May 27, 2010, 10:44 PM I was waiting for this for such a long time. It looks like I'm improving. My libido increased by %40-%50. I feel a lot better. My erection quality got better as well. I realized that I seem to have harder erections as I managed to have more pleasure through sexual stimuli. The best part is I no longer experience those "off" periods at which I had no sexual appetite. It is always there even if it declines sometimes. I believe that if my testo levels also incline, this will be the visible improvement with PSSD, since I don't go through TRT. So, I soon plan to have it tested as well. I feel way better and I know that things can get back to normal as long as we adapt a positive approach.
Guest guest
Congratulations. Which factors might be responsible for your sexual improvement? In other words, which elements in your life had changed prior to your sexual improvement? For example the use of food supplements, herbals, medication, exercise, feeling in love, different sleep pattern, diet, alcohol, etc... Since when do you have PSSD? What exactly do you believe to be the cause of your PSSD? > > I was waiting for this for such a long time. It looks like I'm improving. My libido increased by %40-%50. I feel a lot better. Guest guest
That's great to hear, Jack. I think it would be really interesting to know how long you've been suffering from PSSD and whether you have taken certain measures to combat PSSD. Guest guest
That's great news, how long have you been sober might I ask? Do you feel like the improvements will keep up until you are 100% ? Did this all happen suddenly or did it creep up on you? > > I was waiting for this for such a long time. It looks like I'm improving. My libido increased by %40-%50. I feel a lot better. Guest guest
Actually I've suffered from PSSD for 3 years. Numbness seems to have decreased seriously in the last 3-4 months. > > > > Subject: I'm recovering! > To: SSRIsex > Date: Thursday, May 27, 2010, 10:44 PM > > >  > > > > > > > > > I was waiting for this for such a long time. Guest guest
It got better gradually. I think when that " on-off " period starts, improvement becomes more obvious. > > > > I was waiting for this for such a long time. It looks like I'm improving. My libido increased by %40-%50. Guest guest
I've have been suffering for 3 years. I took sertraline (Zoloft/Lustral) for 6 months. However, at the third month, I already knew something was wrong. My doctor said I could have delayed ejaculations. Yet, I couldn't even ejaculate while being intimate with my partner. Interestingly, I could ejaculate easier with porn.I had no idea what PSSD was but I knew something was wrong with me, even at that moment. I even doubted if I could function normally after discontinuation of the drug. So it's been 3 years now. Yet, I had taken Xanax at rare occasions in the first year of this process, whenever I had over-anxiety. For the first 2 years, I had almost no libido and quite weak erections, other than the times I had TRT. For the last 6 months or so, I'm going through on and off periods. Luckily, that on periods seem to have extended. Even while off, I seem to have %10-20 of my libido. During on periods, I now have %60 of my pre-SSRI libido. I do become horny at times and feel the excitement of sexual feelings again. It is an amazing feeling after all those frigid months. I take gingko and arginmax daily. I've started to take herbal viagra (vgrx) which seems to help as well. I suggest you guys to ignore the messages that start like " I want to die/ it is worse than cancer " etc. Do not let such hopeless people demoralize you. Let them read your positive messages, if you want to help. Caring about their negative views will feel like taking place in the same ship which is about to sink. There always remains the chance of swimming to the cost. " Positive thinking helps " theory may sound like a cliche but it does help with PSSD. Note that bad mood or depression may decrease testosterone levels. So it is a proven fact that the way we feel or think influences our chemicals to some extent. If PSSD was related to gene distortion or permanent damage of nerves which is irreversible, then we couldn't improve even by %10 percent. If improvement is possible, now that I'm sure of it, there is always a chance of entire healing. Do take good sleep. We produce more growth hormone and testosterone while sleeping. Take ginseng-rich supplements and viagra, if your erections are soft. Don't think that it is an indirect treatment for PSSD or a temporary solution. Once you get your penis harder and your libido higher, you remind your body of your normal sexual functioning pressri. Do not accept the situation and send your subconscious the signal that this situation is not normal and that you can function way better. Do not underestimate the effects of low testosterone. It can seriously undermine your sexual functioning. I suggest you to take natural supplements to boost it. TRT can damage your body's natural testosterone producing ability. Exercise regularly and work out with weights to gain muscle. Consume protein-rich food as well. All those can help you increase your testosterone levels naturally. I hope you the best guys. I will let you know if I have further improvement... Best wishes, Jake. > > That's great to hear, Jack. Guest guest
Two questions. What natural supplements did you take to boost testosterone. I am taking Zinc and Magnesium, fish oils and a multivitamin. If you find out your T is boosted let us know. I am starting to think my T of 338 is really one of the major causes for my PSSD at least but I am afraid of TRT because of the fact that it inhibits your bodies natural testosterone production like you mentioned. > > > > That's great to hear, Jack. Guest guest
I agree with everyone who believes remaining positive is the most helpful way to get through this. But there is a very horrible aspect of this disease which has taken a hold of me personally. I find it very difficult to express my emotions about this without being angry. My therapy is this site. No one else can understand what I m talking about when I express to them the pain of pssd. I am sorry to be a reminder of everyones suffering. Not everyone knows about this disease, so, although it may be annoying to view certain negatively oriented comments, I think it may be helpful to know that other people feel the same way. Maybe I m immature in my posts, or I m just really pissed off. Sorry to drag u guys down, but the message of this so far mostly incurable disease needs to be readily available for others to see. Maybe, like someone said, I should find another forum. Good idea.Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryDate: Fri, 28 May 2010 09:33:09 -0000To: <SSRIsex >Subject: Re: I'm recovering! Guest guest
As I have mentioned before, Â I personally feel uplifted by the angry posts. Â Not all of them, but some of them. Â Â Why? It is the authenticity. Â It makes me feel good. Â Â And sometimes, I think that being honest about something painful can open doors to more solutions later. Â Not always, but sometimes. Â Â Also, the same person can be inspired one day and despondent the next - we are not all locked into constant states of 'positivity' or 'negativity' here. Â Â But anyhow, I wanted to suggest that if anybody feels that their post might upset people, one can always mark it in the heading - (warning, angry post) or whatever. Â Then the people who prefer to stay away from that kind of thing can avoid it. Â Â Â And, here too - I could see myself sometimes wanting to read that kind of thing, and other times wanting to stay away from it. Â Â For awhile I had to get away from this board because it depressed me. Â Now it cheers me up. Â Go figure. Â Â p.s. I don't know why the links I put in here sometimes don't work. Â that doesn't usually happen to me, I will try to fix it.
