Carly? ?

<Free-range could simply mean that they are not caged,>

Here in California, the two designations are " uncaged " and " free range. "

Uncaged is what you describe in terms of being cooped up, often on a dirty

concrete floor. Free range doesn't necessarily mean they have grass to eat,

but the barn door has to be open for at least some of the time, and if their

range is restricted to a small space of dirt, hopefully they get a little

more exercise, some fresh air, and a few bugs here and there. I've been

buying eggs from New Zealand. Awfully expensive, and they do get some

grain, including soy, but in New Zealand I don't think the GM stuff is

allowed, and it appears from the orange yolks that these ladies are mostly

on grass.

Terry,

I get these eggs through Whole Foods, which I think is a national chain (I'm

in Calif.). But I was able to talk another health/grocery store into

carrying them as well by giving them the website addy and also the name of

the Calif. distributor. Unfortunately, that info was on my case box ( I buy

6 dozen at a time) which I've thrown away, but you could google for Frenzs.

You might add New Zealand to the search.

Good luck!

We have a great local farm that distributes, only in egg-laying season,

wonderful backyard eggs under the label " Politically Correct Eggs. " The

label is quite humorous and more the point, the eggs are FANTASTIC.

I also buy some pastured eggs through my local raw feeding co-op (raw

feeding for dogs, that is). Very tasty but not quite as good as the others.

The rest of the time, I get Chino Valley Farms certified organic omega 3

eggs. They taste fine but not great.

WHAT??? You're feeding your dogs eggs that aren't quite as good as the ones

you feed yourself? Next thing you know, black'll be white and up will be

down.

Sheesh, you think you know someone....

ROFLMAO, relax Suze.... I feed them the same eggs I eat. Never fear, pigs

don't fly, hell is still hot, and I love them more than I love myself. ;)
