Guest guest
I've been wondering about that as well.I believe the second guy never felt like he was pre-PSSD so he kept taking feverfew, though. But you may be right. Perhaps, feverfew shouldn't be taken for longer than around 2-3 weeks. Best teephos
Guest guest
I remember commenting here when this post first originated. I wasn't trying to be negative or dismiss anything that may help recovery. But seeing a new guy join the group and posting in all caps and exclamation points seems very suspect. I don't doubt that he felt better for a short time, but that is not necessarily proof that a particular supplement is working. It could be pure coincidence, or it could be a real bodily reaction due to unknown biological mechanisms. Like I said before, I've tried a lot of things so I'm just speaking from experience. So far, everything I've tried that has had some effect was only temporary. When new members post that they've FOUND THE CURE!!!, they are most likely due for a major letdown. I think they should have the benefit of being forewarned that their experience may only be temporary, so maybe they won't be so shocked and more depressed when it is temporary. > > Update: The person who first reported a complete recovery is still feeling worse than before taking feverfew weeks after discontinuing it. The other guy taking it has regressed to the state he was before he took feverfew after stopping treatment. > > Based on this meagre anecdotal data, it appears that - presumably by lowering serotonin levels - feverfew might be able to temporarily relieve PSSD symptoms, but doesn't seem to cure it. Also, adverse effects seem possible. > > Best > teephos >
Guest guest
I think homeopathic feverfew probably just has an initial placebo effect. I doubt it does much at all. I've decided to stop taking it. Nothing significant happened besides some temporary minor improvements which may have had nothing to do with it at all. The best solution in my 5+ years in this group seems to be having an understanding partner who will work with you, and also Cialis as a " crutch " until things get better. Guest guest
@Survivor: I absolutely understand where you're coming from. It's really all about managing expectations. Ideally, you don't have any expectations at all - neither positive nor negative. You just give it a try and see where it takes you. Not that that's easy, but it's the way to go, in my opinion. To be fair, though, the member wasn't new; he'd posted before. :-) @Luther: I'm sorry feverfew didn't do anything for you. Regardless of whether the effect is placebo or not - it seems safe to assume that feverfew isn't the cure. I guess we'll have to keep searching. :-) Best teephos
Guest guest
With feverfew, I've experienced what the other person did. It did get better for a couple of hours actually. I had feelings there and the numbness seemed to improve in a matter of minutes. And it went away almost as quickly as it got better. And the next morning, it got much worse than it was before I took feverfew. I've decided to stop it after this. Hopefully I can get back to how I was before this experiment. Guess my brain didn't like to be messed with. So, it probably produced a lot of Serotonin or something.... Guest guest
I stopped it as well on monday. It didn't have major positive effects as described. The main thing I felt from it was sedation. I didn't get any worse by taking it, though. > > @Survivor: I absolutely understand where you're coming from. It's really all about managing expectations. Guest guest
There are hundreds of homeopathic remedies. Maybe everyone here should find a homeopathic doctor and get to work on trying to find a remedy that works? @Survivor: I absolutely understand where you're coming from.
