Guest guest
I know it's really hard to eat out with people watching. When Mon came down to Sydney we had lunch together, we both ordered the salt & pepper squid which was really nice and very band friendly. The thing was we only ate about 1/4 each and then asked for a doggy bag. The cafe owner was really worried that something was wrong!!! If you can't eat all that's on your plate, ask for a doggy bag or container so you can take it home. So far I have never had a problem with a restaurant or cafe doing this for me, it looks far better to other patrons to see them give you the rest to take home than you just leaving it. Guest guest
Sometimes I think they just feel embarrassed. I mean here are us overweight people only eating about 1/4 of what they eat. When people look at me strange I just give them one of those looks as if to say 'My but you eat an awful lot don't you...bit of a piggy aren't we' Makes me feel good anyway. Guest guest
I find I have become one of those painful people that is constantly saying "Wanna go halves" That's why it's good to go out with other bandits. I'm lucky, Dave is not a big eater. So we go halves in most thing too. Obviously you may not want to do this in a fancy restaurant, and I say stuff it. You pay for it, so you can eat it or leave it. It's no ones business. As for the big mouth cow at Church Point. You should have said in your most prim and proper voice..."Shut up and mind your own business!!!" Guest guest
Hey JayGood on you girl - but I know what you mean. Its hard being a fattie - everyone expects you to finish what is on your plate and then go after someone else's plate and another and another... I went to dinner with some work colleagues last week and they had finished their meal and were drinking whilst I was still eating the last bit of my fish... oy! But I was proud of myself, I ate a nice salmon fillet, enjoyed every last bit of it and didnt have any dramas. Who cares? I am proud of where I am up to with my weight loss, quite honestly proud that I have taken this path of surgery and it has allowed me to do things that a few years ago I would have been s**t scared to even contemplate. I would never have gone on several trips over seas, moved out of home and stood up for myself in some situations had I still been 125+ kg. Guest guest
Here here Nic... and I wouldn't be wearing gorgeous black suede high heeled boots with shorter skirts would I? And I still enjoy most foods, I know I am naughty, but hey - I have always been a bit slow with everything I do, and the same with this weight loss... slow and steady and I am getting there. And a wee bit more fill on Wednesday will do the trick I think.... I will be off and running again. I always order entree's as my main meal and nibble on a bit of Craig's or whoever I am with. Most people these days know I have a band - and are happy for me to nibble. Now... today's project, sweet potato chips!! Mel >> Hey Jay> Good on you girl - but I know what you mean. Guest guest
I really wouldn't have let that upset me! I would have been upset if someone had commented that the fat girl had practically licked her plate clean!!! >-- Original Message -- >To: SydBand > >Date: Sun, 25 May 2008 23:38:24 -0000 >Subject: Re: First time Eating Out >Reply-To: SydBand > > >Not good I'm unbanded a newbie but I cant wait until I order >something and cant eat the whole meal. Guest guest
Oh my God those sweet potato crisps weren't they delish I could have sat there and just kept on eating those tiny bowls full that we got. What a lovely afternoon we had. I wouldn't mind having one of our group lunches there. Food was good as was the company. Mel just loved those boots and stockings of yours!
