Hello,

Does anyone know if blood test for neurotransmitter levels

(Serum Dopamine, Serum serotonin) taken seriouly? Since dopamine

does not cross blood brain barrier, are these blood tests significant?

Recently, I checked my levels and found

Serum Dopamine 424 pg/ml ( normal 100 pg/ml max).

Serum Serotonin 159 pg/ml ( 40-400).

BDNF 34.60 ng/ml (6.2-43).

Are there ppl with similar results?

I would also like add here that interestingly my serum B12 was also low (100)

(normal 200-900), and later learned it happens commonly due to depressed

condition. B12 shots singnificantly helped to reduece anxiety and gave better

sleep.

hope this info will help.

regards,

-Niranjan
