Guest guest
Hello, Does anyone know if blood test for neurotransmitter levels (Serum Dopamine, Serum serotonin) taken seriouly? Since dopamine does not cross blood brain barrier, are these blood tests significant? Recently, I checked my levels and found Serum Dopamine 424 pg/ml ( normal 100 pg/ml max). Serum Serotonin 159 pg/ml ( 40-400). BDNF 34.60 ng/ml (6.2-43). Are there ppl with similar results? I would also like add here that interestingly my serum B12 was also low (100) (normal 200-900), and later learned it happens commonly due to depressed condition. B12 shots singnificantly helped to reduece anxiety and gave better sleep. hope this info will help. regards, -Niranjan
