Guest guest
However if it is just the case were sick people are expected to " visualize " their illness away, then I have a problem. That just causes feelings of inadequacy and guilt if they aren't able to do it. Irene I agree, Irene! Two different things we're talking about here; I think using stress reduction of any kind, including drugs, is bound to be very helpful for any/all illness. Whatever works! It's when doctors use " stress-caused " and/or " psychological " to diagnose a patient's problems that they are almost always doing more harm than good. Too often they use those terms to cover their own out-of-date inadequate knowledge about a health related problem. I was out of work for over a year (along with many skiers & fitness types up in Lake Tahoe, CA) I was doing freelance videos for the resorts in the 80's. It was something they eventually called CFID's but the syndrome was disparagingly referred to as The Yuppie Flu. People hated the idea of us -- young, attractive and otherwise in great health. I think it was seen as a kind of vanity -- who wanted to feel sorry for us? Like AIDs happening to Gays -- very little sympathy and " you brought it on yourself " , etc. Oh brother.. ~Robin
