Raw Milk Tonic (Raw Eggs!)

Thanks to those of you who replied to my 'Looking for CD (Crohn's Disease)

Advise' post. I noticed some replies reqested more information about my diet

and I may post a link to my menu at a later date, but I'm going to be changing

it so I'll wait until then.

Some also mentioned the possibility of gluten & casin intolerance as something

to look into. To the best of my knowlegde, I do fine with both. I consume both

on a pretty regular basis and neither has made my condition worse.

To the Raw Eggs title.. I have recently gotten the Eat Fat, Loose Fat book by

Enig & Fallon and I have decided to do the Healthy Recovery plan. (CD is

mentioned as one of the conditions the diet can improve.) Doing this new diet

will introduce me to the world of coconut, gelatin-rich soups, high-vitamin

cod-liver oil (I've been taking the regular vitamin version from GOL),

high-vitamin butter oil, lacto-fermented beverages and raw animal foods. The

organic store here doesn't carry a very large variety of grass fed products

outside of some beef they've imported internationally (?). There is however, a

place I'm going to visit next month that carries a full line of raw dairy, grass

fed beef, poultry, pork and so on.. I'm looking foward to that!

Finally to my point.. one of the things mentioned in the diet is raw milk tonic

for morning & afternoon snacks and it contains raw egg yolks. I'm having a

little bit of a hard time wrapping my mind around consuming raw egg yolks on a

regular basis like the diet suggests due to 1. the slime factor 2. ecoli

bacteria that has been presented by popular media outlets as a danger associated

with consuming raw or undercooked poultry.

From lurking over the past few month I imagine a few people here have experience

with this and I'm wondering if you can offer some advise.

Thanks!
