The baby is in all probability blissfully unaware. Guest guest
I have some (old) commericial buttermilk in the fridge...I use it to make creme fraiche sometimes. It's from TJs--not exactly high quality. What about kefir? I've been drinking some of this, but it hasn't had an effect yet. > , > I recommend cultured buttermilk--can you get some? > B. I had a hellish pregnancy with the kid we STILL call " stinker " and she's 4.5, extremely tall, extremely strong, and already writing. Guest guest
- High dose probiotics are a good start. Make sure to get something without nasty fillers, though, as the fillers could be particularly problematic now that you already are suffering. Natren bulk powders seem to be pretty widely available in health food stores and the like. I recommend you avoid their blends that include bifidus, though, and just stick with acidophilus and/or bulgaricus. (I'd recommend the former or both.) Do you have any way to juice ginger? Ginger juice is often stunningly effective at eliminating nausea, and it may also help a lot with the d. Do you make kimchi? If not, I recommend starting. If you can get hold of some pure L-Glutamine powder, a short course (definitely a SHORT course) of that could help a lot too. >I've been suffering for the past 36 hours from something >nasty...slight nausea and persistent diarrhea, and to top it off >TERRIBLE heartburn last night. (not too cold!) B. /you could also flavor with coriander or rosewater
Guest guest
, I have a huge batch of kimchi freshly made in the fridge--just can't imagine eating any right now. Perhaps I'll try some with the lamb I bought for tonight. I'll get some prob. tonight and see how it goes. I've been taking ginger tea and will juice some fresh and add it to kefir. I guess I could make some ginger kefir beer too...not a bad idea, though it won't be ready today. Thanks for the suggestions!
Guest guest
-- I'm going to pick up the Natren Acid. and Bif. (two bottles) right now. Does Mercola's dosage plan sound reasonable? 1/4 t. of powders total every 30-60 minutes until the d. stops? Take it in a bit of water, right? w/o food is ok, right? Sorry--not used to taking these. TIA
Guest guest
> > Thanks Miss b. I'm off to the kitchen to whip this up... > > , Looks like you can use equal parts kefir and water, if you like. Here's something tasty-looking to stop diarrhea: 1 or 2 apples, cooked until mushy 1 tsp ghee (ach, use butter) pinch of cardamom pinch of nutmeg eat slowly. if you don't have apples, says to use bananas--uncooked. Guest guest
Although I don't have any remedy suggestions, I do empathize with your condition. While not pregnant and before I changed my ways, this is a good description of my life on a daily basis with Crohns. It's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and thinking about all the others out there who are un-educated and who deal with it as much and more than I did is such shame. I'm really surprised that there is no one else w/Crohns or related conditions on this list or the the GFCFNN group. I hope you feel better soon ! <jessclaire@...> wrote: Hi all, I've been suffering for the past 36 hours from something nasty...slight nausea and persistent diarrhea, and to top it off TERRIBLE heartburn last night. Sorry--not used to taking >these. Without food is considered best by most, and yeah, saturation bombing is the way to go. You could even dose with more than 1/4t every 30 minutes. However, I'd recommend that you _not_ buy or consume bifidus. It makes things worse for many people. Ginger juice, maybe garlic juice, a short course of glutamine, saturation bombing with probiotics, and you'll probably be back in tip-top shape in no time. -
