A 1995 placebo-controlled study examined the effect of magnesium and

malic acid on people with fibromyalgia and found that high doses

relieved pain and boosted energy [Jour Rheumatology 1995;22(5):953].

Another placebo-controlled study found similar results combining

magnesium with malate; participants taking the supplement saw

improvement within 48 hours [Jour Nutr Med 1992;3:49].
