Interesting viewpoints - I agree with most of what you wrote.

My personal take is long after were gone [i.e., human race] Mother Earth will

heal itself over many millions of years from now and some other life form will

come along and perhaps do the same " destructive " things.

From death comes life - from life comes death. Out of destruction comes new life

- a good example would be a forest fire [After the fire [destruction] new buds

[new life] pop out and life begins all over again]. Life appears [i.e., on the

human scale of things] to us to be nothing more than cycles. Certainly we are

in a " down " cycle - perhaps from here on out. This down cycle or up cycle is

neither good nor bad, it just is. Life has within it seeds for " destruction " and

seeds for " life. " Perhaps the ying and yang is a good analogy of this

phenomenon.

I find it bizarre when I see people wear t-shirts that state, " Save our planet,

recycle " or " Save our planet, conserve energy. " See, to me, these t-shirts are

a " joke " because it is not Mother Earth who needs to be " saved " - it is the

human race that needs to rethink what were doing. When we poison our air,

water, and minds [TV, radio] these are the things we do to " ourselves. "

In sum, life is an enigma! If you ask young people, their reply would be

“Life’s short, play hard…Nike, just do it!”
