Hi everyone,

That was me sending a unsigned question. I just found out Rochelle has

Celiac. I can't believe it. I finally went back to the nutrionist/biochemist

doctor for the results of Rochelle's bloodtests. The doctor said Rochelle had

Celiac and at risk for Diabetes. Thyroid is at risk too. I just found out

today and have not had time to digest this new diagnosis. I still can't

believe it. She had no symptoms!!! Other than the Autism. She will have to be

on a special diet for life. I thought she just needed a little vitamin

supplement. Tell me it's ok.

This week has been very hectic and I haven't read all the posts for the last

few days. We had a hair anaylsis done and now I need to get a water purifier

and bottled water. No wheat, no eggs, no peanut butter, no dairy. I don't

know what I am going to feed this child. A friend did lend me

book and I am blessed to have a supportive friend. I have to say though that

I am still shocked. The doctor thinks my son should be tested too! The whole

family is going on this diet except maybe the bread thing. The gluten/wheat

free bread is just gross. I love fresh bread. Does anyone know a good recepe

for gluten/wheat bread? I am going out to buy a bread machine this weekend. I

will not give Rochelle those brick breads from Fresh fields. Why are we all

tested so? I don't expect an answer to that question. I clearly remember a

post by someone, was it that their child is allergic to almost

everything. God bless you.

Diane

Diane,

It is OK! Life goes on for us and it will for you. Be sure to get other

family members tested before they start the diet At first we only had JJ

on the diet and I made 2 dinner types every night. That was a pain. So

even before was tested we all went GF at home. As time passes it gets

easier. Just hang in there. I will help all I can.

ds/autism/celiac), (7 ds/ADHD/Celiac/hearing impaired), and Esther (5

ds). All adopted.

Thanks for everyone's support. I think she can have nuts that are not

peanuts. My friend just brought over some homemade chicken nuggets and cereal

that is gfcf. Today Rochelle woke up with a draining ear. Off to the doctor.

It is sooo smelly and green. I've never seen it this bad. She is bearly

complaining. This diet is quite overwelming. Alot to read. Glad I have you

all to get info from.

Diane :)

-Diane, thinking of you so much!! It will be okay, I know all these

changes will help Rochelle, even though I know how hard it will be,

but glad they figured all of this out! I even tried this diet with

for the autism, it really worked out okay, and I am not even

much of a cook. I will pray for ya, and I know you can do it, we are

all cheering you on, God Bless you too, Dawn (can she have other

peanut butters, like sunflower seeds made into peanut butter or

macadamian nuts? sometimes these can be tolerated better) I know

can help, and all the other moms who are doing this now!!

Diane,

Gosh, I'm so sorry you have another mountain to climb. It's downright

amazing how we deal with all the stuff thrown at us, but we do...and most of

the time we do it pretty darn well! I'll keep you in my prayers that this

mountain be much smaller than it looks right now.

(((((hugs)))))

Gail :-)

Some days are a total waste of makeup.

Hmmmm, wow. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, both obviously come on

like a knife all at once supposedly from some " trauma " .

I wonder if I should get tested for celiac???

Kris

Hi Suze, Just wondering what you think about this: My

gastroenterologist thought that the real problems for celiac start

when your body has sustained some " insult " . In my case he said he

thinks it was a virus that may have really set it off. (He thinks a

virus was behind the Lake Tahoe CFS outbreak in 1986 that I was

sorely infected with. They called it Epstein-Barr back then..) He

said he thinks celiac is " the great mimic " and that is why it is so

often underdiagnosed..

Your candida must have come about from some other " insult " no? Did

you take a lot of antibiotics around that time for something? Or

what caused the imbalance?
