Guest guest
I 'd just like to add a notice of caution with Dostinex (Cabergoline). It belongs to a class of drugs called ergotamine derivatives, and they have collectively been implicated in causing fibrotic side effects in different parts of the body. This means that they can cause valvular heart disease. The exact percentage of fibrosis is not widely known, but it seems to be related to the type of drug, dosage and duration of treatment. Genereally this effect tends to diminish after treatment discontinuation. These drugs were widely used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, and when these side effects were discovered, some of them were withdrawn or banned. Some clinicians still use cabrgoline or pergolide, (especially for another disease of the pituitary gland that causes hyperprolactinemia), BUT under observation (i.e. every 6 months) by cardiac ultrasound. If someone has a preexisting valvulopathy, he should not initiate this drug. If your current regime with Dostinex extends over a period of 6 months, I think it should be prudent to talk with your doctor about this (if you already haven't). Generally, lower doses seem to be pretty safe, but currently there is no absolute certainty. Here is a link to a recent review in the Lancet for this :http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19683643?ordinalpos=1 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSumDrug-induced fibrotic valvular heart disease.Bhattacharyya S, Schapira AH, Mikhailidis DP, Davar J.Lancet. 2009 Aug 15;374(9689):577-85. It's based on piperazine, a chemical used in pesticide. http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Piperazine You should consider replacing it with inositol, a natural supplement. > > > > > > > > > > > > From: sideaffectedksc <sideaffectedksc@ ...> > > > > Subject: Re: any recovery case? > > > > To: SSRIsex@yahoogroups .com > > > > Date: Thursday, September 3, 2009, 9:52 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > When you read the first posts on this group from 2005 there was a man who seems to have recovered by using dostinex. Guest guest
Carrotstick, you mention that a testosterone precursor is part of the treatment. Do you have low testosterone levels or is that just part of Dr. Goldsteins method?
Guest guest
Carrotstick, how is week 3 of your treatment going? Guest guest
I would be really careful with the good Doctor from San Diego. I was his patient for quite some time in Boston for PSSD. He put me through toms of useless tests that were miserable and had me on useless drugs but the kicker was his theory of the month at the time of why I had PSSD. He had this theory that riding bicycles caused the problem. When I told him that I only rode bikes about five times years ago when my son was a cub scout, he stood fast that my problem was the bike theory and he wouldn't let go. He is a nice guy but a little out there, if you know what I mean. I also think he left Boston on kind of murky circumstances but that's all I'll say about that. Just be careful of whatever he's pushing because he has had some weird theories on things in the past. I hope he can help you and it will be interesting to read you results down the road. > > > > Do you guys know any people who suffered from pssd, but finally > recovered? Guest guest
Bump for this thread, Carrotstick, I wish the best for you. How is the treatment going? I have cabaser and clomid, but have not found it helpful. Maybe I should follow your method, dose, schedule etc... Is there more to the treatment plan besides taking these drugs on Monday and Thursday?? > > > > Carrotstick, you mention that a testosterone precursor is part of the treatment. Guest guest
did you heal? -- In SSRIsex , " edoe1234 " wrote: > > This is just for all of you who are coping with the nightmare that is PSSD. I had it for 5 monthes and it was probably the worst time of my life, know that there is hope. My PSSD completely blew over three monthes ago and I have been extremely horny ever since (and I had no libido). Do not lose hope, nd most importantly do everything and anything you can to increase your dopamine and lower your serotonin. I have faith you will all heal eventually. >

I'm also taking 3mg vit-b12 injected. Ten tabs lion's mane. One Tbsp inositol. 0.5mg cjc-1295. 0.25mg ghrp-6. On Wednesday I'm going to start taking nattokinase. In two weeks I'll start IGF1LR3.
