He considers my AIH to be more of a " Lupoid Hepatitis" ( an older term for AIH) because of other symtoms I have. How long have you been on it? Bye the way you can ask me anything! Guest guest
Pat, I have had AIH since April of 99 when the original lab work showed Lupoid hepatitis. I asked the doctor if that could be why I was so sick, and he told me, “No one EVER gets that!” Well, hmmmmmmm…..seems I did but he didn’t want to explore it further. So, I went along until July of 2001 before having my gall bladder removed and a liver biopsy done. That confirmed the AIH. Indeed, some doctors are too “knowledgeable” to pursue correct diagnosis. Oh well…just frustrated me that even though I had NO idea what Lupoid hep was, I was on the right track. I could have had more damage done that did not need to be done to my body had I been correctly dx back then. I have been on plaquinal for about one year now. The rheumatologist has given it to me to help with the stiffness, but I am concerned that it is affecting my eyes. I will see the eye doc soon about it. Take care…hope the plaquenil works for you!
