I was thinking of splurging and buying some caviar. I already eat salmon

caviar but love the sturgeon flavor/texture. Does anyone know which kinds

or brands are the healthiest and least toxic. I would assume that one

should stay away from farm raised. What about Russian vs. Iranian? Anybody

know?

Check out Cajun Caviar from Louisiana. It is far cheaper and perhaps safer

than Russian and Iranian. I doubt those countries have even the minimal

environmental regulations that we have in the US. I know that the Cajun

Caviar is not farmed. I used to be good friends with the former owner. I

like the flavor almost as well as Russian Beluga, in fact there is little

difference except the price. I bet they have a web site. If not try

's Wine Cellars in New Orleans. I think they ship.

I'm a big fan of caviar but am also on a buget. I often buy the

cheap stuff in the supermarket just to get by. The good stuff is

wicked expensive. I do like the Irianian caviar and have also had

several of the American. The US is making caviar now that rivals

any. Here's a link

I'd love to find a good source for good caviar at a low price. Let

me know what you find out.
