Guest guest
The Quackwatch link info is absolutely appalling. Just the term " Quackwatch " shows how desperate this maniac, Dr. Barrett, is. " Your Guide to Quackery, Health Fraud, and Intelligent Decisions. " Even more appalling. I don't know Dr. Hotze at all, but if I were him, I'd be sitting in front of an attorney and going after this man and the AACE for slander. This is an obvious orchestrated witch hunt, with a lot of support behind it. I intend to write to CBS, with a cc: to Dr. Barrett and Dr. Law. They need to know our stories and what we've all been through. Dr. Law, the Pres. of the AACE, in his scathing letter to CBS says, " Animal-derived desiccated thyroid, which Dr Hotze endorses and describes as " natural, " is not a natural form of thyroid replacement for humans at all. It is an obsolete product obtained from ground-up cattle and pig thyroid glands. The chemical composition is quite variable, since only the iodine content is measured, and the amount of biologically active thyroid hormones in each tablet is not quantified. This makes it extremely difficult for even a trained specialist to properly adjust the dose to fit each patient's needs. " You really need to read his inane letter in full. I'm so furious my heart is pounding. Sara > > If you search Dr. Hotze online, you can go to his website, > which is: > > http://www.hotzehwc.com/ > > Please tell me what you think. Guest guest
I think the truth must be somewhere in between. I do know of other docs who will help you more and charge you less than Hotze. Guest guest
I just went in and wrote a letter of comment to this site, and if they don't like what I had to say, oh well. Dr. Hotze is very expensive, and he's not my doctor, but I'm glad he's making a stand. They don't like this because it threatens the synethetic T4 pharma industries' sales of their product(s), and these physicians that are taking stabs at him are their biggest mouthpiece, and we are their biggest cash cows. Does synethetic T4 work for some people? Yes, seems to, but we are all individuals, and to call a doctor a quack based on his recommending an older prescription hormone is pure idolatry, at the expense of all thyroid patients and to those who have been miserably undiagnosed because of this bunk on HOW to diagnose. A lot of us know that that's not what this about anyway, as without the appropriate thyroid treatment in the proper amts, the thyroid patient is their biggest cash cow for sales of other drugs, so keep those people sick and keep those drugs a comin'. Guest guest
Dr Hotze is on the radio daily on 700 am KSEV, or one of the dr's at his clinic. If you've not read his book, Health, Hormones and Happiness, it's very good. He is quite pricey. I believe the prices are on his website. He's had Shomon on his show twice now, in the last month about TSH and the AACE's reaction to treating people with armour thyroid.
