Guest guest Posted September 10, 2005 Report Share Posted September 10, 2005 My husband has the disgusting habit of drowning perfectly good food in barbeque sauce, usually a commercial prep (KC Masterpiece) with HFCS as the second ingredient. After fifteen years, I've finally discovered that carefully explaining how disgusting and unhealthy his habits and tastes are changes nothing. Coming up with decent alternatives works much better. There's no reason why bbq sauce has to be unhealthy, is there? Tomatoes, honey/molasses, spices, vinegar - this could work. Does anyone have a good recipe? It needs to taste as close to conventional as possible - and a little sweet. And it needs to be an easy recipe that I can make by the quart every week or two without making a horrendous mess. Ideas?
