What fermented foods did you begin eating a week ago, and in what quantities? -
Guest guest
, Not too much, I have been drinking some simple hard cider, not more than 6 oz at a time. Probably a total of about 18 oz over the last week, 12 oz of which came from the new batch. I found raw organic cheddar and have been eating that a little over a week or so. I probably ate about 1/4 lb this week. I have been tasting a variety of ferments including sourdough rye and a ginger bug, but that is a small bit at a time. I have some pickles brining but I haven't tried them yet since they're far too young. Nothing much other than that - oh, and I have been eating sprouts, but those arn't ferments. I did end up eating a little more sugar this week than I would have liked - a slice of a friend's birthday cake and a few doughnut holes this morning... they were sitting there at work and I couldn't help myself. I have never had such good intestines - a little over 2 months back I wasn't properly digesting much of anything. That got better with enzyme and probiotic supplimentation and then I went back to my usual constipated self about a month ago. I am still a little constipated. Around the same time the constipation started I was feeling a little yeasty - in the corners of my eyes and my other mucus membranes. The first batch of hard cider made me tingle and was too sour - so I threw it out just today. The yeasty feeling went away and it hasn't bothered me for almost the last week. I figured that was because of the ferments (or maybe the CLO?) Any ideas? Thanks!! -Lana > That's definitely not a good thing!
