Price Foundation. It was founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of Price -- a Cleveland dentist in the 1930s -- on the benefits of nutrient-dense whole foods and animal fats. The Washington, D.C., group makes a range of specific proscriptions for good health, some of which are unusual and controversial -- for example, it's against fluoridated water and soy, and for butter and unpasteurized milk. Generally it supports movements such as organic farming. On Saturday at Slippery Rock University, the Pittsburgh-area and Western Pennsylvania chapters will present " Raw Milk, Pasture-fed Livestock, Local Produce: Reconnecting Farmers and Consumers. " Speakers are the foundation's executive director, Bill Sanda, and Mark McAfee, a Fresno, Calif., dairyman who is the founder and managing member of Organic Pastures Dairy Co. Admission is $5 for the seminar, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the McKay Education Building and is co-sponsored by Slippery Rock's A.
