It smokes and bakes, it probably could grill. But it is very well made and rather inexpensive, and uses just plain propane and whatever ol' wood we have laying around for smoke. The water smokers are SUPERB. The water keeps the food from burning, so even folks like me don't overbake the salmon. Also cuts down on carcinogens, and you get this really moist wonderful meat. I even do our Thanksgiving turkeys on ours .. no basting! I use it as an extra oven when needed (too much to cook, to hot to cook inside) and also for " nasty " stuff, like defeathering chickens or boiling cow hooves. Hey, best $200 I ever spent ... I did try " real " BBQ once or twice, but always burnt the food. I just don't have it in me to stand there *watching* the food. My idea of cooking is you put the food on, put a thermometer in it, and go sit in the hot tub waiting for the thermometer to go off.
