I did visit Oxford when we were there as I was field registrar for Troy State or Peabody, can't remember now but one had their headquarters there. The year I was there it was so dry that old castles dried out and foundations cracked! The only thing I had some trouble with possibly was the wheat harvest. I also had to learn how to make a coal fire burn which was super hard for me as I had almost no fire building experience. I have numerous things from England but nothing smells damp. I still buy things on eBay from there cause I love it so. A good friend and I used to visit a little sea coast town - Felixstowe. An English friend took me to pick bluebells in an anciente wood by where an entire village had died of Black Plague. (those who load iron may be immune to it) Well, we really should take this back

channel...... I did overuse my Medihaler in the fall and ended up in the ER. (due to heart problems) How I love to remember Suffolk. That is where I first read The House at Sunset. ah, memories, Alice nawiliwili_k wrote: We lived in Oxfordshire in 2005. I thought the damp was going to kill me. I still occasionally find a box we had over there and open it up and smell damp. catelyn> Being a Scot who has lived in England and now Canada, I find the original post on Scotland to be a sweeping generalisation. Yes, there are sections of the ish population who eat a poor diet, just like there are people in England who eat too many meat pies and beer and Americans who eat too many burgers. > > As for prescription charges, Scotland has a devolved parliament which allows it to determine its own fiscal policy (to an extent). Any reduction in prescription cost comes out of the ish tax payers pocket. In fact the ish parliament plans to abolish prescription charges. > > The big cities in Scotland are poluted but head out into the countryside and you'll see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world with some pretty clean air to boot. > > Hope this helps to

clear some up some misconceptions. > > Fiona> > Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Wireless Network>------------------------------------
