We'll have to agree to disagree. I think that the connotation is important and that every time a woman talks about her " boobs " she's reinforcing a negative self image that she's most likely not even aware of. Tits is my slang of choice. But that makes me unfit for polite company, I realize. Ron

Guest guest
Ron, That's neat - I didn't know that. You learn something new everyday. Sincerely, Lana M. Wow, etiology is fascinating. I had no idea that the meaning as a " stupid person " preceded that of a breast. That said, since boobs, or breasts, or whathaveyou, can induce a sort of stupidification in some men-- the kind that leads to drooling, I'm not sure it's entirely inappropriate. I always thought " tit " referred to the nipple specifically-- am I wrong? > Words have meaning! True, but they also change. And most of the time political correctness leads through a senseless loop. So does this mean the next time a woman says to me " nice ass " that she is really enforcing a negative self image of myself that I am not even aware of?? <g> Well that is one negativity I would like to hold on too <weg> > Tits is my slang of choice. Guest guest
I think " boob " is a terrifically appropriate word and there's a certain reverence for the body part that it connotes in my mind...probably just me though. Actually, I like " tit " a lot too. *wanders off to drool* Tom RBJR wrote: >>so while it's true that " boob " can also be used to refer to a >>numbskull, I don't think it's a big problem. The differnece between such a decision and that of leaving your child in a car on a hot day for a couple hours is essentially one of degree. Not that I agree with 's words.
