What labs should I request???

On Friday, I am seeing a nutritionist, who is an MD. I would like to

ask her to look at some bloodwork besides just a thyroid panel (what

my normal endo does). What labs should I ask for in addition to TSH,

Free T3, Free T4 (not what normal endo looks at)?

I have seen you all mention cortisol, ferritin, iron, calcium,

triglycerides. Would you suggest all of these? Any more?

BTW, these were all out of range back in June when I had a full work

up by my GI dr. He is the one who told me my TSH was high.

Thanks,

My doc sometimes orders B12, folic acid and homocysteine. You might also want a vitamin D test, but I am not sure of the exact name. Cauley wrote: On Friday, I am seeing a nutritionist, who is an MD. I had my cortisol checked and it was really low. I had to take meds for just a short time to get that regulated. The doctor told me that one of the indicators for depleted cortisol is extreme light sensitivity. They checked that first, then decided to do the bloodwork for it.
