What were the symptoms you went in for? He sounds great!

Sue

I had my first visit Tuesday with a new internal med dr in Irving. He

spent well over 2 hrs with me which was a first! He did a very thorough

questioning of all of my symptoms and seemed very knowledgeable about

thyroid. He agreed that the test #s aren't the only indicator of a

problem. He ran an EKG and I'm going tomorrow for an Upper GI Series

(any advice on those???) and complete fasting bloodwork. Then I have

an appt to see him again next Friday to go over the results and his

game plan. I'll keep you posted, but so far this one seems like a

winner. If anyone is in the Dallas area and is looking, his name is

Demarie and he's on Las Colinas Blvd.

Which thyroid meds is he willing to Rx? Make sure you get hard copies of all lab reports. pamr40 wrote: I had my first visit Tuesday with a new internal med dr in Irving. I'll definitely get copies of the labs. They draw them tomorrow so I'm not sure how long before I can get them, but at the latest I see him again next Friday so I'll get them then. He said he wasn't opposed to any thyroid meds so we'll see. Before prescribing anything he wants to see the labs, including testosterone and hormone levels. Here's what his bio says on the pamphlet: Dr Demarie was Chief Medical Resident of Ochsner Clinic/Foundation in New Orelans, LA and a staff member there for twelve years. He is board certified in internal medicine and practices all areas of internal medicine, including travel medicine and cardiac risk management. He is a strong proponent of preventive medicine and is a member of the Texas Medical Association and American College of Physicians. I can tell it was without a doubt the most exhaustive questioning of symptoms I've ever had by a dr. Jan wrote: Does this doc practice "anti-aging medicine"? Does he have a website?Pamr40

I found the website for the group he is with. I also looked him up on the TSBME site. He has no actions against him. We will wait to hear which thyroid meds he prescribes for you and if he keeps you well-medicated. For every 1000 docs who are good for everything else, there may be one who is good for thyroid. . . .would you believe one in 10,000? 100,000. . . .who knows? Good thyroid docs are as rare as hen's teeth. Pamr40 wrote: Here's what his bio says on the pamphlet: Dr Demarie was Chief Medical Resident of Ochsner
