Vidalia onion kefir -- the breakfast of champions...?!?

LOL... laughing at myself (albeit somewhat apprehensively):

When I grabbed a jar to make my latest batch of kefir, I unthinkingly

grabbed one which has formerly held... you guessed it... vidalia

onion relish. A fact I had not realized until I sniffed my kefir

prior to putting it in the refrigerator tonight! So, instead of the

delicate scent of newly-cultured kefir, I caught the unmistakeable

whiff of vidalia onions... Oh, well! Guess I can make cheese or dip

or something with this batch. Only thing I'm worried about is, will

my grains have picked up the scent, and continue to onion-ize

successive batches??? :-o I hope not!

Fortunately, only half of 'em went into that jar; the rest are in an

" untainted " one. But I'm sure going to have to check things out more

carefully in the future, and not just plop 'em into the first clean

jar I can grab off the counter.

Vidalia onion kefir... sheesh.

*shaking head at self*
