I was diagnosed after several trip to the ER, I mean several the pain was unbelievable, however I was also under a tremdous amount of stress, as our son who is now 18 has under gone 22 surgeries since Birth, when they finally took my episodes serious they brought in a cardio dr, right away he saw the MVP and told me what I needed to do to keep it healthy, I also have a form of High BP in my right arteries of my neck, it's where blood pools and all the sudden shoots through the vein, makes me light headed when it does it. I'm no longer on meds to keep my heart rate low and at one point I was tired of medications being in control of my body, And I slowly went off all meds and have done great since them. I have learned the warning signs of my MVP being over worked and use the Xanax to calm the body down. I was diagnosed at the age of 23. That is very interesting about the crystal. I'm going to have to look into that! Thanks for the advise and information

I am trying to tell you that vitamin C will not cause any side effects and save you from some of this stuff!!!!!! I am on Lopressor for my mitral valve which was diagnosed in 1983 when I had a cardiac event due to too much asthma meds and then saw a cardiologist who diagnosed me by sonogram. I suffered until 1990 with panic disorder as they wouldn't give me Lopressor as asthmatics are NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE BETA BLOCKERS! HA! LOL!, did my EI doctor nearly fall in the floor laughing over that.

I finally was very attracted to a rose quartz crystal and bought it to wear over my heart. When I got to NM for my health I learned from several people that rose quartz has healing properties for MVP. I went blind in my left eye due to high blood pressure event and had to go thru more tests and more tests and then was told by a cardiologist in Albuquerque that I don't have MVP!!!!!!! He said the first cardiologist made a mistake. I know he didn't make a mistake as I could see it for myself on echocardiogram. My EI doctor told me anything can be healed if you just know what to do. Terry, I was 34 when all this began happening to me.

I will NEVER have a valve replacement. I have been on Lopressor for 18 years now and I often wear my rose quartz crystal and now I now have the earrings too. It sure won't hurt you and may help you. Also, try mega dosing on Nutracology Vitamin Research powder for one month and see if that helps. These things won't hurt you! You do have choices! I made them for myself! (the Lord did guide me)

from long experience and many trials, Alice

I can speak up on this one. MVP is something that is genic, My grandfather has it and so do and and so does my sister, The MVP get's worse because of how fast our heart is beating due to the meds we're on, it tends to tear then the patient end up with surgery for a pig valve. I've spoken on several occasions with my Cardiologist on this topic because as my heart rate goes up, my chest begins to hurt and it's more that my heart is beating so fast that the top of it that's hitting my breast bone is bruised. But seriously what choice do we have? Use the meds and breath to live or not to use them and die from an asthma attach? It's one of the things you have to weigh out. I can also vouch for the BP going up because mine is up. But I can deal with it because I know the cause of it, so in turn I try to find ways to destress my life, which isn't always easy. I stay in close contact between my Cardiologist and Allergy/Asthma dr and they talk to each other. And I'm only 38 years old.

I used inhalers for 30 years at least but had to stop finally. I use albuteral pills. Somewhere I did read that your lungs are trying to protect themselves and when you use an inhaler before exercise outside you are just opening your lungs up more to get more pollen, etc inside. In the long run this is going to increase your allergy problems. (theory)

If you use it before sex at least you are in your clean bedroom probably with a HEPA filter running so you won't be increasing your consumption of allergens.

I always think about that young model in FL who died from her inhaler. I guess it was one of the old ones that I used ages ago (Medihaler). I think it almost killed me too by doing something to my heart. I have mitral valve prolapse. They say this is genetic but I don't believe that. I believe mine was caused by too much asthma meds. This is just my feeling and experience in my life. I had a doctor throw my inhaler in the trash can right in front of me and say never to use it again!!!! I was very alarmed as I much preferred my inhaler to a trip to the ER for an injection of epinehrine (msp).

Inhalers can also run your blood pressure sky high. OK I guess when you are young. Just a few thoughts from a person who has lived a long time with asthma.

Don't brand me, don't classify me, don't tell me what to wear. I'll be who I want to be, and I'm proud to be me.
