Guest guest
Fo rall you that don't know I'm on the SCD Diet for Proctitic and digestive problems...been on for 3 years...but I following Weston Price along with it with the exception of the complex carbs and grains that aren't allowed....but anyway read below. I just got my cholesterol level checked to day for my physical and they did the prick your finger test in the office and then you get the results in 5 minutes. My total cholesterol came out to 338. I'm 32 years old and have been following this SCD for 2 years for mild proctitis and other digestive issues I was having and the diet has been great for me. But I need to put botter and cheese on everything so that I don't get hungy again an hour after. I find that butter and cheese helps me feel sasiated. My typical meals throughout the day are Breakfast: 2 egg omlette with cheddar in Virgin Coconut Oil, Fruit smoothie drink with mixture of banana, mangom blueberries, rasberries and a bit of apple cider mixed Snack: Banana almond bread. Lunch: Chicken, veal or fish, or red meat with vegetable (Brocclli rabe, asparagus, or squash with butter) Dinner: Same as lunch with other veggies (carrots, green beans etc with olive oil on top) I also eat occasional salads with olive oil, lemon juice on it. and have a nighttime snack of some fruit. I eat like this all the time and pretty much have cheese on my breakfast and dinner. I'm worried about my Total cholesterol since it's absurdly high. But my ratios seem good as well as my Triglyc. Below is all the info from my test: Trygl: 106 Total Chol: 338 HDL: 99 LDL: 218 VDL: 21 TC/HDL Ratio: 3.4 Does anyone have any advice? I know about the cholesterol myths, but when they tell you your levels should be around 200 and I'm 138 point above that I worry. Does anyone else have this same problem with the diet. The olny other alternative to not eating butter, Olive oil and cheese is to start eating complex carbs...otherwise I feel constantly hungry if I don't have some sort of fat with meals. What do I do.
