Re: Airwise Air Purifier

Hi all,

I have been looking into different kinds of air

purifiers. Electrostatic; ozone; UV. These all have

good points and some bad points. Well, I just found a

system called Airwise that uses photocatalysts. I

haven't heard of this before. Does anyone know if

this is a safe process to the body?

Information from internet.

Airwise technology (photocatalysis) oxidizes odors,

fungi, mold, parasites, and toxic chemical gases. At

the same time, it settles dust and other large

particles out of the air and destroys microorganisms

like bacteria and viruses.

Airwise creates inductive warmth, drawing humidity

into the purifier. When humidified air enters the

target area, a photocatalytic reaction occurs an

superoxide ions and hydroxyl radicals are created. As

an added benefit, positively charged indoor pollutants

are treated by Wise Pointe technology (whatever that

is!) which generates active negative ions at an

accelerated rate, thereby enhancing the speed at which

dust and other airborne particles are dropped out of

your breathing space.

It works outside of the box, so it is not necessary

for pulluted air to actually enter the purifier. This

process reduces allegens such as pollen, pet dander,

dust and smoke and destrys viruses, bacteria, mold and

mildew.

There is no fan, so is quiet, no grid or filter to

clean. Just replace the photocatalytic lamp module

once a year.

Any comments?

I have been using one of these for the past few years,

http://www.surroundair.com/xj2100-ionic-air-purifier.htm

well, actually I just got that one, but I used the model it was

updated from for over 2 years and it works great.

It produces lots of negative ions, which from what I understand are

normally produced a lot in nature such as during storms etc...and they

will help keep allergens and other stuff out of the air.

I highly reccomend this brand, as I noticed a BIG difference in how

the air felt during the winter when all the windows were closed.
