I appreciate your help. Deborahhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/TexasKnitCrochet/ Re: Feeling Bad Hope you don't have much Armour - he takes people off at their firstvisit. Be a real shame to waste all those little piggies.>> This week has been bad for me symptom wise. I made the dreadfulmistake of getting Chinese food on Thursday. I have stayed away fromsoy for over a year now. My son wanted Moo Shoo Pork. I ate it andhad to take a 3 hour nap about 45 minutes later. I could not keep myeyes opened. My son tried to wake me up but I did not have the energyto get up. I did not feel that great on Friday either. I have hadepisodes of sweating, etc this week before the Chinese food incident.Has anyone had experiences like this? > > I think it's time for me to get a second opinion. I am going tomake an appointment with Dr. Feferman. Anyone go to him? What's youropinion? I don't think 90mg of Armour is enough for me. I am onDHEA and Progesterone as well. I am tired of being tired and 30pounds overweight. I don't know why I did not think to get a secondopinion last year when I first was diagnosed with Hashi's. > > > > Deborah> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TexasKnitCrochet/>
Guest guest
Check yesterday's posts. Jan emailed the doc's office, and posted their reply. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to him. Guest guest
Read my post "The Real Poop on Dr. Feferman." This guy is a @#$%^ & $ynthroid Nazi. If you need a DFW endo for a second opinion, we suggest you see Dr. Exstrum in Plano. or maybe Dr. Dattatreya in Irving. Deborah C wrote: , He takes you off Armour? What does he put you on? Guest guest
Is there anyone you recommend in Fort Worth, TX. Plano is very far for me. Irving is ok. I read your post about him. I won't go to him at all. I have been in a daze for the past few days, not able to focus that well on anything. Deborah Re: Re: Feeling Bad Read my post "The Real Poop on Dr. Feferman." Guest guest
Who is your current doc? Is he unwilling to raise your dose? If you want to stay on Armour, you need to stay away from most endos. Of those endos who are willing to Rx Armour, most of them keep their patients undermedicated due to TSH worship. The two DFW endos we have on our list are there because we know that they Rx Armour, but we do not know if they will keep you well-medicated. They are being given the benefit of the doubt for the present time. The docs we do recommend are not endos: Launius in ville, Gonino in Rowlett, maybe Horsley in Burleson. We do not know anyone who has seen Mahoney. As for the distance, I just wish my favorite doc were just one county away. You don't have to see a thyroid doc every week or even every month, usually just every 6-12 weeks until your levels are optimized and then every 6-12 months. And if you are just seeing someone for a second opinion, that is a single visit. Deborah C wrote: Is there anyone you recommend in Fort Worth, TX. Plano is very far for me. Irving is ok. Guest guest
Jan, My current one does not want to see me for another 6 months now. I feel that is too long. I guess he feels I am optimized after only a year of treatment. I was diagnosed in April 2005. Am I asking for instant healing? Maybe I am. Maybe I am too inpatient. I want energy back. I want to feel good again. I don't feel that at all. How long does it take to get optimized on your medication? I do have a hard time with Armour increases. But I adjust within a week. I am on 90mg Armour. Deborah Re: Re: Feeling Bad Who is your current doc? Is he unwilling to raise your dose? If you want to stay on Armour, you need to stay away from most endos. Guest guest
I would expect to be seen and tested every 6-12 weeks until I was optimized. Who is the doc that does not want to see you for six months? Have you asked to be seen sooner? Have you asked for a small increase? My doc sometimes puts folks on a six-month callback, but they are always welcome to make an appointment sooner than that. Some docs just have a TSH number beyond which they will not treat. If you are not well with that TSH of 1 or even 2, then they say that it is not your thyroid. If your doc is one of those, then you don't just need a second opinion. You need a new doc.
