Guest guest
I found her website. She appears to be a Hotze protogee. Some of those folks are quite good and some are not. Her site indicates a preference for Armour. And she does the bio-identical hormones. My concerns would be: 1. Does she understand dosing? 2. Does she sell a lot of supplements that may or may not be what you need? 3. What does she charge for office visits and testing? Do give us a full report after you see her. http://www.woodlandswellnessmd.com/default.asp?did=1lulu4six wrote: I am wondering if anyone knows of Dr. McManus. Guest guest
Hi Joni, A friend of mine went to Dr. McManus "once" that's alls she could afford. That visit cost her $1700.00. She's was very free with the Armor, maybe a little too free. She started Terry on 90 mg. Which was way to much for "her", and gave her a script for three months. This was almost 3 years ago though. She does all the proper testing without a hassle though. If you've got lots of money she's your gal.... Becky I am wondering if anyone knows of Dr. McManus. I have an appointment with her on Monday. She is located in The Woodlands.Only problem with her is she doesn't take insurance.

Guest guest
Yeah, we've got The Family coming for graduation in May. Guest guest
She seems to understand dosing. So far everything that she is putting me on she has low dosed it, since I don't tolerate meds very well. She has put me on: Cortisol 2.5 - 1-2 capsules in the morning Bi-est - 0.625 1-2 capsules in the pm Progesterone - 12.5 1-2 capsules in the pm She feels that I need to treat the adrenals and hormones first, before everything else. Supplements that I will gradually take: fish oil, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Niacin (this will be one of the last ones I add), B-comples and a multi-vitamin that she recommens (Juice Plus). She also mentioned Iodoral, in the future. Because of my problems with burning my stomach lining and the removal of all my good bacteria in my colon, and all the other stomach problems, she wants me to start taking a digestive enzyme. I went for labs today, and she is testing for everything!!! If anyone has any comments or recommendations for me please let me know. All I want is to feel good!!! Office visits will be $125.00, and my insurance will cover my labs. She seems really understanding. JoniJan wrote: I found her website. She appears to be a Hotze protogee. Guest guest
Joni, I see a nutritionist. I also am very sensitive to meds, get a burning feeling in stomach and have problems with too much yeast. I am on all the supplements your dr. wants to add, plus the enzymes, which are wonderful for those of us with stomach issues. I have heard good things about Juice Plus, but don't take it myself. Remember, if one supplement bothers you, try another brand. I am also starting the progesterone this week. I can't say whether or not you should not be starting something for your thyroid, though. I am interested in what jan has to say about putting that off. But, the other supplements are great for you and will help. Re: Dr. McManus She seems to understand dosing. Guest guest
When do you take your digestive enzymes??? Do you take it with food or without? I see the nutritionist on May 16th, looking forward to it. Have you been through yeast detox?? The nutritionist talked to me about going through it, but I've just started eating (only thing I was eating was yogurt 3 times a day) in the last few months because of my stomach. Thanks for the imput. Joni Cauley wrote: Joni, I see a nutritionist. I also am very sensitive to meds, get a burning feeling in stomach and have problems with too much yeast. Guest guest
She is waiting on my labs. She felt that I needed to address the adrenals (which she feels are really bad) and hormones before she put me on armour. We are taking this very slow....my body is not normal!!!!
