Guest guest
I first posted here a month ago when I'd begun to have asthma problems again after a few good years. A few of you advised me to get myself to the doctor. So I made an appointment. Well, the Friday before my planned appointment the asthma got really bad. I went to a local drugstore and asked the pharmacist what I should get over the counter. I had a list of ALL my maladies and meds, which I showed him. He said there just wasn't anything. So my husband hauled me off to the ER. I could barely speak when they admitted me. So, after two days in the chest pain and cardiac units, and a huge amount of tests they let me go with a diagnosis of severe bronchitis and acute asthma. After finishing up some high powered antibiotics & cough meds, I am now on Azmacort, Albuterol & Allegra. They help some, but not enough. The neighbors' smoke is making my life hell. When it is bad I just hide inside wearing a mask and running air cleaners and ionizers. Is there anyone else who has found a way to deal with such a situation? How many other people on the forum suffer with second-hand smoke as their worst asthma trigger? Is there any hope for relief? Jan
