We can post a link, a brief summary, a brief quote and our own opinion about an article, but posting the full text, or even a substantial portion of the text, puts us in danger of violating copyright law. I would normally ask you to repost with just a link, but someone has already posted a link to this article. The only exception is for Dr. Mercola's newsletter. We have permission to post it in its entirety. Junemcfhou@... wrote: Hi, everyone, I am June McFadden from Spring, Texas just north of Houston. I have been reading the About Thyroid board for years and have gotten a lot of tips from them. I have suffered from numerous bouts of thyroiditis over the years. I had breast cancer in 1995 and all of my health problems started after radiation and chemo. The doctors always say my results are normal because my TSH is below a 2. However, both my T3 and T4 are at the very bottom of the range. The doctors do not look at that. I was diagnosed with diabetes last September and have Sjogren's, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. I have no insurance and so my medical options are limited. I am the mother of two grown children, and grandmother to 3 with another due in July. I am currently separated from my husband of 35 years and I am asking for a divorce as soon as he deals with our IRS problems. I found out last year he had had a girlfriend for the last two years and several other women before that. I am sad about it, but life goes on. I am blessed with my children and grandchildren. I have copied an article I just received from Med-Scape. I don't know if all of you have read it. I hadn't been on the board for a while. It is no wonder we have a tough time with our doctors when they are warned against "endocrinologic collusion" with their patients. I'm glad to be part of the group. June McFadden Yahoo! Guest guest
June-- I'm sorry to hear about all of your recent travails. Sounds like you're taking them with good humor, though, and you will get through this one. The first thing you need to figure out is how to get to a better doctor, IMHO. The one you're seeing obviously doesn't intend to treat you, despite bloodtests and symptoms. There are a few doctors on our list with reasonable pricing systems. Secondly, try as best possible given your circumstances to keep your stress level to the minimum. That really won't help if you're a poorly thyroid patient. You may also want to have your local gyno run a basic check if your ex has been running around as much as you think. And finally, I read the Weetzman article on the http://thyroid.about.com newsletter. What a putz! I know Shomon is gunning for him right now. She's encouraged her readers to deluge his email box with mail. Unfortunately, I think all that's going to do is reinforce his belief that all women thyroid patients are unstable. Glad you with us! Hope things get better soon! Courtenay. --- Junemcfhou@... wrote: > Hi, everyone, I am June McFadden from Spring, Texas > just north of Houston.
