Guest guest
Hi mary, As stated my intent is not to match my research against yours in any way, shape or form! We are all the best judge of our bodies, minds, and spirits and how we feel. I am just a hypo/hashi person getting as much info as I can to help me make informed decisions with my doc. Sue You used the word " study " . Both weight gain and hairloss are extreme signs of hypothyroidism. When T4 is way too low, it is known that it tries to rapidly convert to T3, more rapidly than usual, as in a healthy state. Thus, the T3 can run a little higher in initial stages of hypothyroidism or when chronically grossly undertreated, so having some T3 available is NOT a good reason to withhold Armour or other natural thyroid product from a patient who may very well do better on it. I've been researching this sbjct from every conceivable veiwpoint for the last 7 to 8 yrs, and I've heard thousands of opinions on why-synthroid-why-not-Amour and vice versa. What is it that is press releases and patient comments---are you referring to the deal about Synthroid being unstable or the other way around, about Armour being unstable? What you posted below is the one recall that Armour has had that I was referring to. Abbott and the other big daddy thought that they were going to get away with the grandfathering thing on their product, but they couldn't mainly because the product was almost NEVER up to standard, yet, to hear them tell it, it was the best. There is also that organization called Public Citizens or something like that, who didn't even know that Armour was a prescription drug at ALL, and made all those false statements, with some people believing it, simply because they are supposed to be a patient advocate group. This is why I don't put much stock in educational credentials. Because that does not entail knowledge or the truth, necessarily. It takes long research and hundreds and thousands of stories of what has happened on an individual basis to determine what's good, and Armour has an excellent track record. The proof is in the puddin', and those people who do well on Armour, almost every single one of them did very very poorly on synthetic thyroid hormones. No, the synthetics are NOT natural, as in a whole product, so the molecular structure is different. I remember all these things also about Premarin and such, and, low and behold, those hormones are not the same as true bioidentical hormones, as in Biest and Triest. It IS true that the pig's thyroid naturally puts out quite a bit more T3 than our glands do, however.
Guest guest
The results are good if that is what you need. Ask him for links or references to those studies. I have not heard of any such studies. sle816@... wrote: I don't know if he is going to DC armour or not. however, he did say that the studies are pointing to good results with a combination of armour and T4??? steph Yahoo! Guest guest
I know I'm way, way behind on the posts and you may have already made a decision by now but if the Armour is working and you didn't do well adding T4 in the past, why not ask to try a little more Armour? ~ > > I took the 50 mcg of synthroid and felt a little ilke I was on speed. Guest guest
And furthermore, who ever said the human thyroid is perfectly consistent? I've read again and again that it fluctuates and releases hormones as the body needs them. Another $ynthetic fallacy. nw > > how can it be fluctuating anymore with armour than with synthetic t4? In fact, the armour is much closer to what our bodies naturally make which is a combination of t3 and t4. again, the pharmacist can telly ou exactly how much t4 and t3 is in the armour. it is consistent and not fluctuating at all. > > > --------------------------------- > Brings words and photos together (easily) with > PhotoMail - it's free and works with Yahoo!
